FORMER Healesville and Yarra Ranges councillor Di Moore is on the comeback trail.
Ms Moore will stand for Ryrie Ward in the Shire of Yarra Ranges council election in November.
Ms Moore told the Mail she was ready to return to an active role after retiring at the last election.
“I feel I can contribute some experience and maybe some wisdom.
“You have the CEO (Rob Hauser) going and with that I believe there is the possibility of some issues to do with governance,” she said.
“I believe it needs someone there who can come on board who has had the experience in the area of understanding the workings of council.”
Ms Moore was a councillor with Healesville from 1988 to 1994 when the Kennett government’s commissioners took over following amalgamation.
She was elected Ryrie Ward representative in 1994 and retired in 2005.
Since making the decision to run, Ms Moore said she had spent time getting up to speed on issues in general, and Ryrie Ward in particular.
“I get the sense it is going to be a hotly contested election,” Ms Moore said.
