BANDS Mania will headline a series of events organised to celebrate this month’s National Youth Week.
The event, featuring a number of exciting local acts, will provide young music fans with three hours of non-stop musical entertainment.
Four bands will line up at the Healesville Memorial Hall on Friday, 11 April, including San Salvador, Suburbia Burns and indigenous hip-hop artists Alter Egoz.
Yarra Ranges councillor Jeanette McRae encouraged young people to get behind the event, which is being presented by Healesville’s youth events committee What The Funk and the shire’s Youth Services.
Other events being held as part of the shire’s National Youth Week program include a youth leadership forum, the launch of an antenatal resource guide called Hey Babe and a musical workshop for young people with disabilities.
Cr McRae said the Youth Services team had put together a fantastic program for the shire’s young people to celebrate National Youth Week.
“There are plenty of opportunities for young people to get involved,” she said.
Bands Mania will run from 7pm to 10pm and entry is $5.
The event is fully supervised and is drug, alcohol, smoke and pass-out free.
