RESIDENTS heard a roar of thunder through the Yarra Valley over the Labour Day weekend when the Harley Owners Group held its Annual Hog Rally in Yarra Glen at the racecourse.
Riders from across Australia and New Zealand attended the rally.
Co-organiser Lee Walter described the weekend as a huge success.
“We had 300 registered riders, and probably between 100 and 200 riders joined in,” Ms Walter said. “It was a very successful weekend.”
Riders were welcomed to the starting point on Friday night with a banner at the entrance to the township that read ‘Welcome to Yarra Glen from the Township of Yarra Glen’.
On Sunday the riders formed a convoy from Yarra Glen to Healesville for the Thunder Ride.
The sound of motorcycle engines filled the town, with many attending the Show and Shine display in the Healesville Tourist Precinct following the ride.
