YARRA Ranges Regional Marketing has appointed Dale St George as its new chairman.
Board member and Yarra Ranges councillor Noel Cliff said the appointment was a coup for the region’s peak marketing body.
“Mr St George has an extensive knowledge of our region and has an exciting vision for marketing the Yarra Valley and Dandenong Ranges’ enormous array of tourism experiences, food, wine and local produce,” he said.
Mr St George is the regional general manager of Mirvac Hotels and Resorts for Victoria and Tasmania and the general manager of the Heritage Golf and Country Club.
He has more than 20 years of experience on a number of tourism and marketing boards in Victoria and New South Wales, which Cr Cliff said, made him an ideal choice for the position.
Mr St George said he was excited to take on the challenge to help showcase everything the region has to offer.
“The primary focus is to get the region to work together as one voice,” he said.
Mr St George said he was committed to the region.
He is currently building a home in Healesville.
Mr St George takes over from inaugural chairman Jeffry Farman, who was appointed to the role in November 2006.
Yarra Ranges Regional Marketing was established through the merge of Destination Yarra Valley Dandenong Ranges and Yarra Valley Brand in 2006.
The marketing body was formed to promote the Dandenong Ranges and Yarra Valley as one region.
