GEORGIA and James Laven represented both the Yarra Ranges and Victoria with distinction over the weekend at the Australian Cross Country Championships in Launceston, Tasmania.
The competition on Saturday 31 August brought together over 100 of the best athletes from Australia and New Zealand to compete, with the windy and wet conditions making for muddy terrain.
Georgia Laven finished in 10th place in a field of 31 for the 11-years girls 2000m.
James Laven, running for the first time in a Victorian-representative team, competed in the under-14 boys 3000m, coming in 32nd place out of 73 athletes with a time of 11.02.
The Yarra Ranges Athletics group congratulated George and James for being selected to represent their state and for their efforts at the championships.
