A NEW comedy production will be making its way to Healesville for a one-night-only show featuring a unique story, set after the end of the world.
Delectable Shelter, performed by the Hayloft Project, will come to The Memo in Healesville on Wednesday 24 and will begin at 7pm.
The story features a group of the last five humans left on Earth stuck in a bunker deep underground, where they must ensure the human race carries on for 350 years before people can safely return to the surface.
Rich suburban couple, Reginald and Biddy, along with their inadequate son Grayson and his wife are accompanied by master of the bunker, Thor, as they try to formulate a utopian society for humankind.
With the backing of ’80s pop, classical and even opera music, the production is said to sharply critique modern society, with the themes of white elitism and first world worries addressed in the show.
Delectable Shelter is the brainchild of Benedict Hardie, originally produced by The Hayloft Project and Theatre Works and will be on for the one night at The Memo.
The show is intended for mature audiences, with strong language, adult themes and sex scenes.
