RSL sub branch to run day club

THE Healesville RSL Sub Branch will commence a Day Club at the branch this year.
The Day Club, although sponsored by the Department of Veteran Affairs (DVA), is open to the general public.
It is designed to provide entertainment and something new for the local community.
A public meeting will be held at the sub branch on 7 February at 11am for all those interested in learning more about the role and purpose of the Day Club.
Community support adviser for the DVA, Marg Joiner said that she was delighted that the Healesville RSL wanted to join the 40-Day clubs already in Victoria.
“The opportunity to join is open to all residents. The meeting is the result of 12 months research into the local needs and we expect a vibrant outcome on the seventh,” Ms Joiner said.
“Each day club has the aim of supporting people who are still living independently in the community, whether alone or with a spouse or partner.”
