FROM chrome-bejewelled Cadillacs to battle-scared old work-horses and the crowd-pleasing Batmobile, the 7th Mountain District Car and Bike Show held at Healesville on Sunday 24 March was once again offered a magnificent showcase of ‘wheels’.
Hundreds of cars and motor bikes purred or roared their way into the Don Road Sporting ground for the show which attracted car, truck and bike owners, enthusiasts and lots of families who make a day of it each year with kids entertainment and live music.
Organisers Greg and Jacqueline Sheppard from Monbulk are still doing the books, but expect to have between $9000 and $10,000 to distribute to Yarra Ranges’ community groups, including Healesville Hospital.
This year’s donations will bring to more than $55,000 raised over the seven years.
Greg said the show had become a popular part of the car-show circuit and was very well supported by local car owners as well as visitors from all around the state.
