Take rock to the top

Enjoy a night out at the Alpine Resort Hotel.

NEW Year’s Eve will be rocking at the Alpine Retreat Hotel with two top valley bands on the books.
Country quartet Ruckus and new local band Don’t Panic will be part of the New Year’s Eve celebration.
But don’t just think the new year at the Alpine, the festival season is fast approaching and what better way to celebrate than holding a function at the Alpine Retreat Hotel.
The Warburton venue has the perfect setting for weddings, birthdays or Christmas feasts.
With its historic ambience and the majesty of the surrounding mountains the Alpine is an outstanding venue.
Function rooms are able to hold up to 140 guests, or 350 in the entire venue, and guests can even choose to stay the night in the hotel’s accommodation.

Co-owner Gary Collison said wedding parties could choose whether they wanted canapés or main meals including entrees or desserts.
“They can also choose a food and beverage package, knowing there is table service on weddings,” he said.
“They can book a function room, the lounge, a table or the whole pub.”
Mr Collison said function guests can choose from the regular menu, a set menu, or make their own menu.
“Our new bistro has just been set up as well, away from the public bar and in an intimate atmosphere with great views,” he said.
Co-owner Colin Doherty said if people chose to stay the night, the hotel was able to cater for guests with 19 ensuite rooms and 13 rooms with add-on suites, with the ability to bed down 70 people.
“It saves people a lot of trouble,” he said.
“They can get all their meals at the hotel – breakfast, lunch and dinner.”
The hotel also has links with other Warburton guest houses so larger numbers of people can be accommodated.
Mr Doherty said many families could make a weekend of a wedding, and could use the Lilydale to Warburton bike track and Warburton’s river walking tracks.

“Most people come and visit for the beautiful aspect of the place,” he said.
“We don’t have rigid rules, we invite people to organize their reception and we’ll do the set up.”
The Alpine Retreat will host a variety of bands over the summer, with events posted on their Facebook page under Alpine Retreat.
The New Year’s Eve celebrations will kick off from 7.30pm until late, with tickets $20 per person on sale now.
The hotel is located at 3340 Warburton Highway in Warburton.
