Auction time at Victoria House

By Kath Gannaway
GARY and Stacey Latham of Victoria House Auctions in Wandin are preparing for their last auctions for the year.
Mrs Latham said the catalogues they are working on for the auctions on 2 and 16 December will provide plenty of inspiration for anyone looking for a unique Christmas gift, and for collectors.
“We are especially excited to have some really beautiful jewellery included in the first auction, which would make someone very, very, happy come Christmas morning,” she said.
The jewellery, which includes diamond and ruby rings, brooches and solid gold necklaces and bracelets, is from a Geelong estate.
“We don’t get a lot of jewellery and we certainly have not had this quality before,” Stacey said.
Each item comes with a certified valuation for insurance purposes.
A range of artwork and antique furniture including Victorian, Edwardian, Georgian, Period and Colonial pieces will also go under the hammer.
The Lathams will be putting on a free barbecue and drinks at the 16 December auction as a ‘thank you’ to the local community and their customers for support during the year.
“We’ve had a wonderful year and we want to show how much we appreciate it,” Mrs Latham said.
