Sunni’s works take a different perspective onSunni’s works take a different perspective on

TO “make known the unknown” is the quest and the destination for Warburton visual artist Sunni.
An exhibition of paintings, drawings and photography at Warburton over the next three weeks is part of that endeavour.
Sunni has drawn and painted since childhood and has studied formally and informally to develop her skills and ideas.
She became part of an extended family of contemporary artists through the Ferntree Gully Arts Society in the late 1960s and she says those links continue to enrich and sustain her today.
For the past 20 years she has lived in Warburton, a place she identifies as “my tribal home”.
Sunni said the exhibition title Element of Mystery describes what Carl Jung called the “numinous” or other worldly power that underlies everyday reality.
“This way of seeing gives a sense of discovering beauty, wonder and meaning in everyday life.”
Element of Mystery is on exhibition at the Studio in the Upper Yarra Arts Centre in Warburton from Wednesday 31 October to Sunday 18 November.
The official opening is on Saturday 3 November from 1pm to 3pm. Phone 5966 5160 for further information.
