BIG dogs, little dogs, hairy dogs, wrinkly dogs, show dogs or just plain old mutty dogs … no matter what type of dog they’ll love the treatment they get at the Tru-Blu dog wash.
John and Joan Lloyd have just added the Tru-Blu Self-Serve Dog Wash to their Magic Car Wash in Hunter Street, Healesville, and already it’s a howling success.
“People are just loving it,” said Joan who volunteered the couple’s border collie, Maggie, for a test run.
Although Maggie is more middle-size than large (as dogs go) Joan said she had found it hard to give her a really good bath.
She was heavy to lift and just wasn’t too keen on standing still for too long.
“We looked around for the sort of dog wash we would be happy to use on Maggie and the Tru-Blu really fitted the bill,” John said.
One of the key features of the dog wash machine is that it is walk in and with a glass front, the dogs, whatever their size, don’t feel boxed in.
The fact that the equipment is Australian-made in Warrnambool and that all the grooming products are veterinary licensed and recognised within the Australian pet grooming industry as being of a very high quality, made it even more attractive he added.
Another feature for water-conscious customers is that both the car wash and the dog wash have water-recycling capabilities.
The Lloyds have also installed a 45,400 litre water tank to boost their water savings.
The dog wash works just like the car wash with a number of options to choose from.
The cycle starts with a shampoo and follows on with a rinse, condition rinse, flea and tick rinse, blow dry on high and low settings and finishes with disinfecting the tub, ready for the next lucky dog.
“You can make each stage as quick or as long as you like and you can also skip a setting if you want to,” Joan explained.
The cost is $10 but if more time is needed customers can add time at a $1 at a time.
