Book now for season functions

LESS than two months to go until you know what!!!
And, the word from Upper Yarra RSL, it’s by no means too early to start thinking about “silly season” functions.
“We start getting our bookings from right about now,” said venue manager Lyn Witnish.
“The earlier groups can get their functions organised and booked in, the better,” said Lyn.
“We can cater for functions for any size group with options, which range from finger-food and gourmet platters to magnificent three- and four-course meals,” she added.
Chefs Tyrone McKenzie or Troy Nichol have many years experience catering for functions, including the busy festive season, and will be happy to meet and put together a menu to suit particular groups and budgets.
The extensive grounds of the RSL can also be booked for groups who would like to self-cater with a barbecue or picnic. Drinks must, however, be purchased from the bar.
“We also have a seniors menu seven days a week for lunch and dinner,” Tyrone said.
“Seniors who purchase a main meal from this menu at lunchtime from Monday to Friday receive a complimentary soup or dessert of the day.”
The Sub-Branch also serves a range of light meals and snacks at lunchtime including a selection of delicious homemade desserts and freshly ground espresso.
The regular menu features a range of pasta dishes, side orders, chicken and fish dishes, children’s menu and an extensive wine list with a selection of Yarra Valley wines.
The Bistro is open from noon to 2pm and for dinner from 5.30pm until 8pm, seven days a week. Bookings are essential and visitors are welcome. Phone 5967 1771.
