YARRA Valley families visiting the Royal Melbourne Show this year may have an unexpected sense of deja vu!
The Yarra Valley and Dandenong Ranges is the showcase region at the show with local producers and attractions taking pride of place in the Grand Pavilion.
Heidi Crundwell of Yarra Valley and The Dandenongs Marketing (YVTDM) said the high profile exposure is expected to have fantastic spin-offs for the region, but there are also lots of “spin-offs” for visitors too.
Visit the YVTDM stand to go into a draw for a great prize – a family lunch at the Skyhigh Restaurant on Mt Dandenong and tickets to get into the new maze.
The YVTDM is also part of The Great Show Treasure Hunt.
Just purchase a treasure hunt map ($18) and pick up “goodies” at different exhibitors around the show grounds.
Healesville Sanctuary has allocated 15,000 free children’s passes to the YVTDM for the treasure hunt, a great way to encourage families to visit the valley.
There is also a Yarra Valley Food Group showbag on sale with lots of great samples and goodies.
If you’re one of those families that has been too busy to discover all the fantastic things which have visitors flocking to your backyard, then a visit to this year’s Royal Melbourne Show could be just the ticket to inspire you to become a home-grown tourist this summer.
