THE stage has been set for a nail-biting four quarters of football as Woori Yallock goes head-to-head with Silvan for the Division One premiership flag on Saturday.
Yarra Valley Mountain District Football League president Tony Mitchell said there was no way to pick who will take the honours on Saturday.
“It could be anyone’s game. It will all come down to who wins on the day,” he said.
In the home and away season both teams beat each other once and Woori Yallock (the Tigers) beat Silvan (the Cats) in a nail-biting fourth quarter victory in the semi-finals.
It was just two weeks ago that these two teams faced-off in a battle that saw the Tigers ruthlessly dispose of the Cats in a 25-point victory.
Mr Mitchell said the game would be a battle to end with Silvan eager to settle the score.
The battle lines are now drawn with the Cats determined to take out the flag Saturday.
Mr Mitchell said the Division One grand final would be a game not to be missed as these two strong sides face-off in a grand final for the very first time.
“It should be an exciting match, it will certainly be a game not to be missed,” he said.
Mr Mitchell said five former AFL players would take to the field to add some excitement to the grand final with Damian Monkhorst, and Dermott Brereton playing for the Tigers and Aaron Henneman, Marc Bullen and Ben Haynes for the Cats.
This exciting epic battle for the premiership flag will kick-off at 2.30pm at Healesville and will be a game not be missed.
