HEALESVILLE Gymnastics Centre took out the title of State Champion Club at the Victorian Acrobatics Championships in August.
Gymnasts from the Healesville and Emerald Clubs performed brilliantly with Marian Marr and Kirsten Townshend of Emerald winning the Level 2 Pairs and a number of gymnasts qualifying for the national competition.
Alicia Strichow and Ruth Terpstra finished second in the Level 4 Pairs, Morgan Fisher, Laila Halim and Sonja Terpstra came third in the Level 4 Trios and Esther Rijk, Joanne Curry and Shea Bilton-Gough came second in the Level 5 Trios.
All will compete in the nationals in Sydney later this month. HGC director Dru Troon said the results were wonderful.
“This is the sixth year we have competed in this annual event and it is the second time we have won the State Champion Club title.
“This is due to the outstanding efforts of coach Samantha Whitehead and assistant coach Jodi Mathieson,” Ms Troon said.
