ALMOST two years ago Ringwood North naturopath Brigitte Bennett decided to support her local community with a children’s clinic every Monday afternoon.
“I had been searching for a worthy community cause to support through my work at the clinic and knew that I wanted to support families and children in particular,” Ms Bennett said.
“I decided to look at the feasibility of donating my time rather than money and run a children’s clinic where appointments would effectively be free of charge to all families,” she said.
Ms Bennett explained there is no consultation fee for parents who do not have private health cover but for those with private health cover the minimum scheduled fee is charged and can then be claimed back making the consultation effectively free of charge.
Parents then pay only for any remedies prescribed.
Ms Bennett is passionate about the initiative.
“I have chosen to donate my time to those parents and children who feel that naturopathy might be an option for them,” she said.
“For anyone who has thought of taking their child to a naturopath but is still hesitating for one reason or another, then this might be the opportunity to take that step.
“I am excited about making a difference and helping parents and their children get back on track,” Ms Bennett added.
Ms Bennett said parents can make an appointment as often as necessary.
The clinic operates every Monday from 1pm to 5pm.
To make an appointment phone Ms Bennett on 9879 0504.
