Drivers reckless

YOUNG drivers are wreaking havoc in Healesville with their reckless and dangerous behaviour.
Two men were apprehended in Healesville over the weekend in two separate incidents involving drink-driving.
On Sunday morning Healesville Police intercepted a red four-wheel drive doing wheelies in the main street about 1.55am. A 19-year-old Healesville man was breath tested and found to have a reading in excess of .11. Police seized and impounded the man’s vehicle and he was charged on summons for traffic offences, including drinking while disqualified, drink driving and dangerous driving.
Five minutes later police attended another incident in the main street in which a group of 20 intoxicated and rowdy people were being entertained by a 19-year-old driver. After being requested by police to leave, a man confronted police, who used capsicum spray on him.
A 23-year-old Healesville man was charged on summons with several offences and will appear in the Ringwood Magistrates’ Court later this year.
