BRENNA and Tamera Sharp are a formidable sister-act when it comes to creativity imagery.
Brenna, 22, took out first prize in the “SnapIT” section of the National Talent Competition (NTC), run each year as part of National Youth Week.
The NTC encourages young people in a range of artistic endeavours including music, poetry, writing, art, film, photography and design.
Brenna was looking for something “outside the oval” when she took a black and white photo of scorers at her brother’s cricket final.
“The theme was ‘Sport in the Community’ and I didn’t want to just take someone playing sport, I wanted to take a different angle on it,” she said.
“The light was perfect and the shadows were amazing,” she said still enthused at capturing the prize-winning image.
Tamera, 18, came runner-up in the “DesignIT” section with a digital design depicting a theme of changing the world.
It’s the second successful year for Tamera who last year won the People’s Choice Award in the same category.
The girls are delighted with their success which has seen their work recognised by some of Australia’s leading industry experts in the artistic fields they are passionate about.
