BRAGGING rights at Upper Yarra S.C. were on the line and the Wessie boys can shout out loud due to hard work and no passengers. Well done to both sides for a wonderful tight contest!

A DETERMINED Wessie side gave their all in a very disciplined team performance. The defence created several attacking moves as we managed to work our way through the flooding tactics from a determined and valiant Woori team. The Wesburn forwards played with the system of old and brought each other into the game at every opportunity.

Healesville JFC

U10: Another close game against Yarra Glen played with a strong team spirit and skilled passages of play. The back line held up very well and closed down the opposition to limit their scoring shots. The boys are showing a better understanding of the game and reading play well which is making them an exciting team to watch.

WITH David Lindorff celebrating 50 games, the boys were determined to win this one, Starting off great, they went a miss in the middle 2 quarters, but finished off well in the final term. The highlight being Tommy O’Keefe getting his first ever goal!

THE boys got over ran in the last quater to go down by a goal. Healesville’s fitness was a real issue and the continued reliance on the good players to do the job for was very disappointing. Much work to be done before next week.

Healesville 18-9.117 d Yarra Glen 1.1.13.
HEALESVILLE came up against a depleted Yarra Glen side topped up with Under 12s and borrowed players. Highlights of the day were Plugger’s eight goals and the way Healesville put their game together. Thanks to the 8 players who showed great sportsmanship in putting on the Yarra Glen jumper with all doing very well for the opposition.

Under 16
Olinda-Ferny Creek 22.11.143 d Healesville 6.9.45.
OLINDA started with a very strong first quarter and Healesville struggled to peg back the deficit for the rest of the game. Hayden Johnson and Simon Thomas were the best contributors taking many marks around the ground. Trent Krikas and Aaron Wilkes played good roving roles in the forward line. Kyle Milgate and Shane Roberts were good in the backline. Healesville’s final quarter showed that they are able to compete against the better sides.
