THE Noodies are returning to the Yarra Valley – well, two Noodies, at least!
Healesville singer songwriter Ewan Cloonan teams up with Brisbane fiddle player, Michael Patrick for a night of hootin’, hollerin’ and oversized overall-wearin’ at Cunninghams Hotel in Yarra Junction on Friday, 22 June.
The Noodies were a hit when they rolled into the Yarra Valley with a frantic series of appearances across the valley earlier this year.
“We’ve been described as a cross between the Rolling Stones, the Beverly Hillbillies and the Wiggles,” said Cloonan.
Even with a name like The Noodies, the band can’t afford to be sensitive. Cloonan says there’s a lot of heckling from their audiences, and they are not afraid to give some back.
“When does the band get here” and “Are you dancing or having some sort of allergic reaction to your shirt,” are two of his personal favourites!
As an incentive – not that one is needed – the best overall-wearing dancer in the audience on Friday will win a copy of the band’s all originals CD. “Not far from the truth”.
