FLORENCE Walker celebrated her 90th birthday on Thursday with flowers, chocolates, and a two-guitar serenade.
Flo, as she likes to be called, was joined by family, friends and staff for a special birthday celebration at Holmwood Aged-care in Healesville where she is a resident.
Members of the St Brigid’s Parish Music Group came to the party, entertaining Flo and friends with lots of old favourite songs including, of course, Happy Birthday.
Originally from New Zealand, Mrs Walker came to Australia almost 30 years ago and moved to Healesville to be nearer to her daughter, Yvonne Ewers.
Ms Ewers said Flo was an accomplished oil painter who had played indoor bowls both in New Zealand and Australia.
“Mum also loves a game of bingo and a flutter on the horses and the pokies,” she said.
And, at the wonderful age of 90 … why not!
