THE CFA is calling on more residents to get involved with their local brigades as part of its Creating Safer Communities campaign.
In the coming weeks residents of Gruyere, Launching Place, Seville, Wesburn, Millgrove, Woori Yallock, Hoddles Creek, Warburton and Yellingbo will be encouraged to take an active role in their local fire brigades.
The activities are aimed at informing residents about local CFA involvement, what it means to be a CFA volunteer and the rewards from serving the community.
CFA is Victoria’ largest volunteer organisation and one of the largest volunteer-based emergency services in the world.
CFA volunteers come from all walks of life and are involved in a range of activities from emergency response to the provision of community educations programs.
If you are interested in joining CFA or would like further information on your local brigade freecall the Volunteer Hotline on 1800 232 636.
