Music from across the world

CLAIR de Lune will return to Healesville this month after a successful year of touring and the release of their new DVD and CD.
The popular folk/fusion ensemble with harpist Michael Johnson, Megan Kenny on flute and Matthew Arnold playing violin were a sell-out when they last appeared at the Bodhi Tree Cafe.
Their concerts have the reputation as being musically haunting, lyrical and soulful – sometimes jaunty and percussive.
While Johnson, Kenny and Arnold have played in many classical ensembles, their skills have been equally utilised within Celtic folk, pop, rock and jazz.
Between them the trio have more than 70 years’ experience on the stages of Australia and across the world.
All have performed with the top names of Australian musical talent, Johnson alongside performers including Kate Ceberano, Judy Jacques and James Morrison, Kenny with the Melbourne Symphony and Opera Orchestra of South Australia and experimental groups such as Naked Raven and Clowns Smiling Backward, and Arnold with artists such as Kavisha Mazzella, Debra Byrne, Maireid Sullivan and as a guest artist on a CD by Tim Finn.
Clair de Lune will perform at the Bodhi Tree Café in Healesville on Friday, 18 May. Phone 5962 4407 to book.
