HEALESVILLE Primary School prepies had a ball when Healesville Basketball Association launched the ‘Kids First’ program.
The association and the ANZ Banking Group have formed a major partnership to deliver the program, which they say is about creating a future of physical and financial fitness.
Ben Turner, Healesville Basketball vice president said the bank had got behind some of the exciting ideas the association has for improving and maximising the impact of basketball within schools in the Healesville and Mountain District area.
The program includes clinics tied to banking programs and fund-raising initiatives.
As part of the program all the prep students in the area receive a Healesville Hornets/ANZ basketball after a school clinic.
The first round of basketball clinics was run for Healesville, Chum Creek and Toolangi Primary
Schools last week and Badger Creek and St. Brigid’s Catholic schools will be involved later in the year.
Garry Conner, ANZ Boronia local market CEO said the program was an excellent and exciting opportunity for the bank to support local communities.
