It’s ahealthy choice

By Melissa Donchi
MILLWARRA PRIMARY got busy recently with its annual Kids Go For Your Life program, which challenges kids to lead an active and healthy life.
The hectic program schedule included tips on healthy eating, a sports carnival, a mobile education centre and even a visit from Gembrook MP Tammy Lobato.
The program was launched at a big school assembly on Monday morning with Kids Go For Your Life representatives and concluded on Friday with a visit from Ms Lobato.
The Go For Your Life Mobile Education Centre visited both campuses conducting a 30-minute session of physical activities and educating the kids about everyday food choices.
“We have had a strong focus on the health, fitness and well-being of our children at Millwarra for a long time,” Millwarra Primary School principal Rod Barnard said.
“This program gives us the recognition that we are doing a good job, and helps us to do even better.”
Mr Barnard said Millwarra students were already making changes such as drinking water regularly throughout the day, eating healthy lunches and participating in daily fitness programs.
