BEECHWORTH Bakery, founded in 1984 by Tom O’Toole who followed his passions and worked his way through some major hardships, is one of Australia’s most successful retail bakeries.
The philosophies set down by Mr O’Toole which include “hire for attitude, train for skill” and “provide the best customer service with an old fashioned, personalised mix” are part and parcel of the business operation at Healesville.
Another maxim is always a quality product.
“We are passionate about using the freshest and finest ingredients to provide a consistently superior quality product,” manager Matt Schwab said.
Shortly after opening Mr Schwab introduced a range of breads which he said are proving popular with locals and tourists.
“We are doing about a dozen lines from the top sellers at Beechworth,” Mr Schwab said. They include pumpkin, fruit loaf, chiabatta, Turkish, sour rye and a variety of rolls.
The aroma of fresh breads coming from the ovens flows through to the cafe adding to the warm, friendly atmosphere.
Beechworth’s 200 per cent unconditional satisfaction guarantee not only applies to the food, it applies to the service as well.
“If anyone is not completely satisfied, we will replace the product and refund your money,” Mr Schwab said.
