Show-stoppers all

SOME of the world’s most desirable cars will make their debuts at the Melbourne International Motor Show in March.
Porsche, Aston Martin and Lamborghini will all reveal their latest models to Australian car buyers and enthusiasts.
At the affordable end of the market will be the Australian debut of one of the world’s best selling small family cars.
Almost every car brand sold in Australia will be represented, and more than half of them will present new models for the very first time.
The cream of the show’s cars will be previewed in the Motor Show Cavalcade at Federation Square on Wednesday, 28 February.
Among the show stars will be the stunning, high-tech Caparo T1, widely acknowledged as the closest thing yet to a two-seater Formula 1 car for the road, specially brought out from Britain for the show.
Equally unusual is the three-wheeled Bonning Roadster, built in Queensland and designed to achieve outstanding performance with the option of using eco-friendly alternative fuels.
Some of the show’s top attractions are not cars at all. They include the L’Oréal Paris Men Expert Lounge, where visitors will receive a mini face massage, sample bag and expert skincare advice.
For the younger brigade, Hot Wheels is launching its new boys’ fashion range with two action-packed parades on the opening Saturday of the show, plus fast and furious competitions on the Hot Wheels® Mega Track at selected times through the week.
More traditional fashion parades will take place on the five weeknights of the show on five different show stands, featuring a selection of Australia’s top international men’s and women’s designers.
The ever-popular Shannons classic car auction makes its annual appearance along the MEC Concourse, where other attractions include two “bash” cars from the Camp Quality Escarpade and a stunning selection of Formula 1 photos signed by some of the world’s top F1 team members.
Melbourne International Motor Show, organised and promoted by the Victorian Automobile Chamber of Commerce through its dealer division the Australian Automobile Dealers Association (Vic), runs from 2 to 12 March at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre.
