IN THE conclusion to the round 10 YVCA match, cut short due to rain last week, Warburton-Millgrove played Coldstream in a one-day match.
Batting first Warburton reached 7/185cc with Tim McKail 51, Brent Summers 48 and Mark Williams taking 3/46 for Coldstream. In reply, Coldstream were all out for 117 with Michael Walker 4/17 and Cam Darwell 2/4.
At Wandin, the home side continued its innings from last week and were dismissed for 176 with Jason Rowe 82 and Gary Frankovic 34 with a good spell of spin bowling from Shane Luck with 5/35. In reply, Mt Evelyn were all out for 164, the Jones brothers leading the batting display with Kane Jones 47 and Brad Jones 41. Gary Frankovic completed a good all-round match with the excellent figures of 8 for 67.
Yarra Junction, at home to Silvan, scored 182 (Dan Lever 63). Stuart Reynolds with 3 for 52 was the best of the Silvan attack. Silvan, in reply, could only manage 143 (Mark Appleby 27, David Lever 4/29 and Stephen Flutter 3/45) as Yarra Junction won.
At Seville, the home side was chasing Woori Yallock’s innings of 6/211 declared – Tim Diggins 53, Nathan Ward 48, Andrew Sharp 45 and Gary Quilty 2/19. The run chase was in 54 overs and in the second last of those overs Seville passed the score and finished on 7/217cc (Andrew Kay 70 not out, Richard Dicello 34 and Danny Hyndman 2/79).
Yarra Panthers hosted Healesville and declared their innings at 9/190 (J. Koole 50 and Darren Edwards 5/49). Healesville failed in their chase and were dismissed for 130 with only Tyson Carruthers getting a score of 43.

In round 10 of the RA Finger Trophy, Marysville were dismissed for 70 in their first innings against Hoddles Creek, with S. Simmonds taking 5/35. In their second innings they performed much better with A. Clarke getting 71 and Carl Morandi 37. Brenton Derix took 3/24. However, Marysville lost to Hoddles Creek 4/241.
Yarra Glen 201 drew with Gruyere Districts 3/128cc.
Kinglake hosting the match against Launching Place United were dismissed for 134 – Brenton Styles 42 and Greg Abrol 5/22. In a very tight contest Launching Place United came out winners with a final score of 138 to win by 4 runs – Rod Norman 43 and Cameron Hoare 18 not out.
Round 11, commencing next week, has some quality games scheduled, in both the Strachan Shield and Finger Trophy. DJSS Wandin host Yarra Panthers, Seville travel to Silvan, Warburton and Woori Yallock play at Woori Yallock, Mt Evelyn go to Coldstream and Healesville host Yarra Junction. In the RAFT Yarra Glen drive up the mountain to Kinglake, Marysville come down the mountain to play at Gruyere Districts and Hoddles Creek play Launching Place United at Wickhams Road.
