HEALESVILLE artist Christine CafarellaPearce has donated one of her original works to the Healesville SES.
Ms CafarellaPearce, who is currently holding an exhibition titled Yarra Valley and Beyond, has donated one of her oil paintings to help the SES branch raise funds for new equipment.
The painting, titled Yarra Valley Vineyards, depicts views across the Yarra Valley near St Huberts vineyard in Coldstream. It was painted in autumn this year and is valued at $950.
“Whenever I hold an exhibition of my work I like to give something back to the community,” Ms CafarellaPearce said.
“The Healesville SES do such a wonderful job servicing the local community and this is one way I can help them out.”
Healesville SES deputy controller administration Karen Picone thanked Ms CafarellaPearce for the donation and said the SES would use it as the major prize in a fundraising raffle.
The second raffle prize will be a dozen bottles of Yarra Valley wines valued at $200 and a pastel drawing by another local artist valued at $90.
The raffle winners will be drawn on 6 November at the River Street Market in Healesville, and tickets can be bought from the Looking Glass Gallery and Healesville Walk Shopping Centre.
Ms CafarellaPearce’s exhibition Yarra Valley and Beyond is on at the Looking Glass Gallery, 43 Maroondah Highway, Healesville until 18 September.
