YERING Station has taken out two awards at the National Wine Show bringing its overall tally to 20.
Yering’s soon-to-be released 2005 Reserve Shiraz Viognier was awarded the Westende Trophy for Best Dry Red Table Wine-Vintage 2005 and the KAZ Group Best Dry Red Table Wine – Shiraz, Premium classes.
Chief winemaker, Tom Carson, described the award as an honour.
“It reinforces our belief that Shiraz Viognier is now recognised and acknowledged as a valid expression of cool climate Australian Shiraz.”
The winery has also received awards for Best Sparkling Wine in Show for its Yarrabank Late Disgorged 1998 and Best Cabernet Sauvignon for the not-yet-released 2005 Yering Station Cabernet Sauvignon at the recent Victorian Wines Show.
