THE good news just keeps rolling in for newly re-elected Seymour MP, Ben Hardman, with his appointment as Parliamentary Secretary to the new Minister for Agriculture, Joe Helper.
Mr Hardman will play an important role in assisting the Minister for Agriculture consult with the community and introduce legislation.
Mr Hardman described the promotion as a pleasant surprise and said he was looking forward to meeting with the Minister next week to discuss the portfolio.
Mr Hardman lives on a shared village farm in his electorate of Seymour and attended an agricultural boarding school for six years in Campbelltown near Sydney.
“I feel particularly blessed with my portfolio because it’s such a good fit for the electorate with its diverse agriculture scene.
“Within the Seymour electorate alone there is wine grapes, olives, aquaculture, sheep and prime lamb, cattle, goats, alpacas, turf growers, tree farms, poultry, egg, dairy as well as fruit and vegetables,” Mr Hardman said.
“I’m looking forward to working with the wider community of Seymour on agricultural issues.”
