IT’S ALMOST that time again. The actors know their lines, the costumes are hanging neatly in rows, the sounds and lighting equipment has been ordered Healesville High School’s annual theatrical production is ready to go.
This year it’s Cinderella and with Steve Whitmore as Esmeralda, the nasty stepmother, and Elliot and Matt as her charming daughters, Gouda and Fetta, there should be plenty of laughs.
There are flamenco dancing gypsies, incredibly flexible Arabians, lots of gymnastic mice and, of course, a beautiful and romantic heroine with no less that two handsome princes desperate to find her.
Once again incurable thespian, George Field, will star, this time as the old king and pianist, Noel Steele, will accompany singers through their solo performances with his usual good humoured competence.
The support of locals like these two is invaluable to the school.
There will be two public performances, at 7.30pm on Friday, 25 August and Saturday, 26 August, and tickets are available from the school office.
Tickets are expected to sell fast so get in early and secure your place and support the next generation of young Yarra Valley performers.
