Hunt for witnesses

SENIOR Constable John Leck from Healesville police is appealing for witnesses to a serious assault outside the Healesville Hotel.
The assault took place out the front of the hotel, on Maroondah Highway in Healesville, on Tuesday 5 September at 12.20pm.
Healesville police Sergeant Tony Van Gorp said a man, believed to be in his late 20s, confronted another man, in his early 50s.
“The two men, who are known to one another, became engaged in a verbal altercation and then the younger man is believed to have punched the other man in the face,” he said.
“The older man sustained a serious injury to one of his eyes and was taken to a local doctor for immediate medical treatment.”
Sgt Van Gorp said police were keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident.
