YARRA Ranges Regional Marketing has appointed a marketing executive from Victoria’s High Country as its new chief executive officer.
Jennifer Hutchinson, who was most recently the sales and promotions manager of the Mansfield Mt Buller Regional Tourism Association, was appointed to the role last week.
Ms Hutchison, who has a wealth of experience in tourism marketing and promotions, will now lead YRRM, the new peak marketing body for the Yarra Valley and Dandenong Ranges regions.
She will be in charge of promoting and marketing tourism, including agribusiness and the food and wine industries across the Yarra Valley and Dandenong Ranges.
YRRM interim chairman and Shire of Yarra Ranges CEO Rob Hauser said Ms Hutchison’s appointment had been welcomed by the interim YRRM board.
“We are delighted to be able to announce Ms Hutchison’s appointment to Yarra Ranges Regional Marketing,” he said.
“Ms Hutchison will play a key role in overseeing the new body as it develops a clear and consistent direction to market the Yarra Valley and Dandenongs regions to domestic and international markets.”
Ms Hutchison was a finalist in the Telstra Business Women’s Awards in 1997, has worked in the Middle East and Asia, and in her role with MMBRTA has played a key part in expanding markets and introducing new programs.
She has previously run her own company, has a bachelor of arts degree and qualifications in strategic project management, journalism and education.
She was also a board member of the Lighthouse Foundation, an organisation involved in supporting homeless youth, and is active in the REACH Foundation, an organisation also committed to supporting young people.
James Martin, Shire of Yarra Ranges community relations manager, said Ms Hutchison would be based in Healesville and was expected to start work in her new role in mid-October.
