The Yarra Valley Musicians’ Collective has lined up two dynamic bands for an intimate gig at the Badger Creek Hall on Friday 21 April.
It’s a musical double that will ease the longing for fans of the Collective’s main event, the Healesville Music Festival held in November each year.
The Northern Folk, a collective of 11 musical ambitionists are spreading their unique brand of folk/ pop/ stomp/ rock into the roots of small towns and big cities alike.
Soaring saxes, roaring brass and bashful bass frame the Northern Folk’s massive vocals – with eight-part harmonies in tow.
From intimate ballads to big-band boot-stompers, The Northern Folk’s big sound is continuing to earn them a following wherever they go – soon to include Badger Creek.
Indie/ Roots band The Black Harry’s cut their teeth on the Melbourne busking circuit, a grounding reflected in their unpretentious and relaxed performance.
Warm guitars and soaring vocals are accompanied by virtuosic rhythms stirring a sense of nostalgia – even with songs not heard before.
